The installation of a chicane bunch compressor at the Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) in Brookhaven National Lab has been completed. As part of the comissioning phase, bunch length measurements are being undertaken. A commercially available bunch length interferometric system(BLIS) will measure coherent transition radiation (CTR) from an insertable foil. In addition, emitted THz coherent edge radiation (CER) is studied. The radiation is emitted from a diagnostic port located between the third and fourth magnets of the chicane compressor, and transported to a cryogenic bolometer. A six position filter wheel is used to further study aspects of the radiation wavelength spectra. CER measurements at the ATF also include polarization studies, verifying its fundamental differences with synchrotron radiation. Emission of CER is correlated with compression of the beam, and with severe distortions of the beam energy spectrum. We report experimental progress, as well as modelling efforts using fieldEye, a far-field calculator which is an extension of the TREDI code.
