Outreach Using Physics Demos

The Instructional Resource Lab, which provides lecture demonstrations for teaching physics and astronomy, also supports faculty and staff outreach efforts with demonstration equipment, advice and training. This is done as a purely volunteer activity and is not a service provided by the university. Our resources are limited and we can't accomodate all requests. If you are interested, contact one of the people below.

Martin Simon (M), Art Huffman (A), Bill Layton (B), Manuel Urrutia (U) , George Morales (G), Troy Carter (T), Steve Cowley (C), Walter Gekelman and others, do a number of physics and astronomy demonstration shows for K--12 students, teacher training workshops, and share knowledge with physics teachers, technicians, and demonstration staff at other universities. This outreach brings physics education and demos to over a thousand young students each year. Below is a partial list of activities the last few years.
