1. We get to examine Mars rocks without having to send a spaceship to get them.
2. A year or so ago, it was claimed that fossil microbial life was found in Mars meteroites. The claim is controversial.
But if true, it would confirm the general belief that life will develop spontaneously easily on any planet with liquid water.
