: Why are there no massive O and B stars in globular clusters?
: In what ways are the fate of the universe, the geometry of
: the universe, and the average density of universe related?
: How many galaxies are there?
: What are double radio sources?
: What is the argument that we may be the only intelligent
: beings in the galaxy?

: Thank you!
1. Globular clusters are old. All the massive O & B stars have long since gone through their entire lives.
2. Fate is open expanding forever, on the boundary line, or closed, eventually contracting back to a Big Crunch --
corresponding to saddle-like negative curvature, flat space, or spherical positive curvature (see Fig 17.7) --
corresponding to less than critical, critical, more than critical mass-density.
3. Billions
4. See pp 353 & 358 as part of "unified model".
5. This was the point of the last half hour of lecture in class. Review the lecture notes.
(In other words, I don't know how to answer it without giving away the questions on the exam.)
