I have become involved in the campaign to defeat Proposition 227. This has lead to a growing set of comments, articles, links, contacts, etc. Thus I had to change this page to make all this information more manageable.

I have often been questioned about my "allegiance" to Chicano causes. To buttress my position, I have found it necessary to ruminate on the following issues:

• What did Vasconcelos say in his book about "La Raza Cósmica?"

Interestingly, none of the two pages mention his "raza cósmica" philosophy. The only place you can find it mentioned (through AltaVista, at least) is where the seal and lemma of the UNAM is discussed:

Other sites found in the Web are mainly derivative and do not go to the original sources of Vasconcelos position. Hence I chose not to list them.
